About Braun brand
Braun is a German-based consumer products company, founded by mechanical engineer Max Braun, who began setting up a small engineering workshop in Frankfurt in 1921. In 1923 he began producing components for radio equipment. Then in 1928 the company had grown considerably. Eight years later, the workshop began manufacturing radio equipment in 1929. Later on, the Brown Company manufactured slide projectors, such as film cameras, high-definition accessories, and sound systems.
From 1984 until 2005, Brown was a wholly owned subsidiary of Gillette International, which had purchased a controlling stake in the company in 1967. Brown is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Procter & Gamble, which bought Gillette in 2005.
Then in 2012, De'Longhi purchased permanent rights from Proctel & Gamble to manufacture Braun-branded products in the small appliance sector, but Proctel & Gamble continues to own the Braun brand.
Today, Braun focuses on its core categories (shaving and grooming, beauty and hair care).
